Laurence “Lo” Toney

Laurence (“Lo”) Toney is a seasoned consumer Internet executive who likes to work in exciting environments with passionate people. He enjoys solving complex problems by building, leading and developing world-class teams motivated to create great products and user experiences that solve real problems. In addition to his professional career, Lo works with a number of startups as an advisor/mentor and has personally invested as an angel.
He worked with Zynga where he was a General Manager. Lo spent two years as the GM of Zynga Poker with full P+L responsibility for Zynga’s largest franchise. During his leadership, web bookings increased by over 150% while increasing margins. In addition, he led the Casino strategy and was the sponsor for two acquisitions to drive new game development and acquire expertise in real money gaming. While at Zynga, Lo also led YoVille and worked on mobile publishing.
Prior to Zynga, Lo was the Global General Manager for Nike.com responsible for developing and implementing the strategies and tactics necessary to position Nike as the leader in sports ecommerce. In his prior role with Art.com, he managed the P+L for Sistino a consumer brand focused on art from emerging artists.
Before Art.com, Lo was the Director and General Manager of eBay’s Collectibles Business where he managed the P+L and team for $3 billion in annual transactions. Prior to eBay, Lo was a co-founder of NetAbacus, a management consultant with PwC and an EIR with a small, focused venture fund. He began his career in the financial services industry doing institutional money management and corporate development.
He received his M.B.A. from the Haas School of Business (University of California at Berkeley) where he completed the Management of Technology program – a joint curriculum program with the College of Engineering. Lo received his B.S. from Hampton University in Virginia.
